Leadership Positions

Director of Media Relations – University of Kansas Dance Marathon

January 2016 – February 2017

As the Director of Media Relations, I oversaw a committee of three social media managers who were each assigned a social media platform. Via Twitter, Facebook and Instagram platforms, the Media Committee promoted the KUDM message among the student body and the Lawrence community.

This leadership position was the most rewarding of my whole college career, as it was my first opportunity to act as a formal leader of an official group. Knowing that all this hard work was For the Kids made it even more rewarding. The purpose of the Media Committee during this term was to start a campaign that could be used for Dance Marathon’s years to come. We created the #FightingForTheNext campaign to add a more personal aspect to our cause. This video was featured on the national Children’s Miracle Network social media channels – proving it a huge success!

Director of Facebook Strategy – University of Kansas Dance Marathon

February 2015 – December 2015

Within the Media Committee, I was designated to lead all of KUDM’s Facebook relations. I created Facebook events for fundraisers, as well as posted reminders for students and alumni to sign up for the Dance Marathon.

Social Chair and Activities Chair — Delta Delta Delta Sorority

  • Social Chair – February 2015 – November 2015
    • Responsibilities included organizing date parties, mixers with different chapters and dinner exchanges. This position helped me gain superior time management skills by requiring that she plan months ahead for many events at a time.
  • Activities Chair – September 2014 – December 2014
    • This position put me in charge of Tri Delta’s community service efforts. I planned opportunities for chapter-wide group outreach to ensure that each member was on track to have 10 hours of community service by the end of each semester. This was my favorite position held so far, as outreach has always been one of my greatest passions and was my main motivation to go Greek.
